As in previous years the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality seeks nominations from the public to identify waters for monitoring. Nominations are accepted from January 1 to April 30, 2012. Nominated waters selected for DEQ monitoring will be sampled starting the 2013 calendar year.
Additional copies of the nomination form may be found on the DEQ citizen monitoring webpage at www.deq.virginia.gov/cmonitor
In addition the webpage includes a summary of citizen monitoring activities for 2011. The report details continued growth of citizen monitoring over previous years.
